A Tale That Deserves to be Told
This is a tale that began long before us and our time, but way back then, no one knew that it would be a tale for our grandchildren. Moreover, a tale for our great-great grandchildren.
1922.
Baba Draga was born back in 1922, and in the same year a vineyard in Bresnica was planted in her honour. When it was time for Draga to get married, she brought that exact vineyard full of Plešivica varieties to the Šember family as dowry.
2018.
When the vineyard turned 96 years old in 2018, an idea came to life about a single vineyard and a single vintage sparkling wine from Baba Draga's vineyard.
The vines that were planted over a hundred years ago are still there. Those that have finished their life cycle have been removed, and new vines were, by chance, never planted.
Kraljevina, Šipelj, Žuti plavec, Štajerska belina, Greševina & Crveni veltlinac are just some of the local sorts planted in that vineyard.
The thick and massive vines covered by a robust bark, and having lived through 96 winters, 96 prunings and 96 harvests have finally been poured into a bottle of sparkling wine!
